With their curled blonde hair and smoky eyes onlookers could be forgiven for thinking the red carpet beauties were sisters, if they weren’t two of the most well known faces in showbusiness.

Despite the decades that divide Madonna and her lookalike Lindsay Lohan they chose almost identical outfits last night, each turning out in Los Angeles wearing a little black dress and the highest of heels.

The 22-year-old actress took inspiration from the veteran performer, 50, at a Cinema Society and Dolce & Gabbana hosted special screening of Filth and Wisdom.

Madonna directs the film, and the queen of pop turned on the glamour for her night in the spotlight. One can only speculate about what the original Vogue girl thought about copycat Lindsay.

It appears Lindsay had some help getting her Madonna tribute just right – a phoograph of her today reveals her hair is the work of extensions.

But while Lindsay is known for indulging in junk food binges and her hard-partying ways, Madonna works for hours to keep her body in shape.

The singer, who has constantly reinvented herself during her three-decade long career, has a private gym yards from her multi-million London home.

And she is known to work out daily, while Lindsay spends her time shopping and lunching with girlfriend Sam Ronson.
