Tips for Beautiful Curls

Posted in hair care, hair style tagged , at 1:46 am by Pretty girl

Curls are making a comeback and if you are a lucky girl with natural curls this is a good time for you to show them off! Here are my tips to get the best out of curly hair.

Tip #1. It all starts with a great haircut …

Make sure you get some face framing layers and absolutely no blunt cuts! That will give you a poofy bottom kind of like helmet head. And of course lots of frizz! If your hair is on the thicker side you can get it thinned out a little bit. I have thick hair and I prefer it heavy because it weighs my curls down a bit. Remember, the shorter you go the curlier it will get!

Tip #2. Moisturize!

Get a shampoo for dry/damaged hair (even if you don’t think it’s dry and damaged). Again, dryness=frizz and that’s a four letter word we curly haired girls do not like! I like to use Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner. You can find it on Amazon.com for 3.93 for a 12 oz bottle.

Tip # 3. Fight frizz …

Also a great frizz fighter is John Frida’s Frizz Ease. I like to use the hair serum in the extra strength formula but the regular formula would be fine if your hair is not as thick.

This line also has a curl perfector I like to spray on after my gel.

It is the best thing ever invented.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying 1 Minute Mask

Posted in hair care tagged at 1:52 am by Pretty girl

If you have problems with your hair, use Garnier Fructis Fortifying 1 Minute Mask

hair maskI have thick, curly highlighted hair so I try to use a hair mask once a week to prevent my hair turning into a frizzy mess!

I was really impressed with this mask from Fructis, it smelt great and I only had to leave it on for one minute meaning I didn’t have to hang around with a towel on my head all evening.

My hair felt much softer afterwards and it had a great shine to it, I’ll definitely be using it again. For my thick dry hair, this was a real treat.”

Faster Hair Growth

Posted in hair care tagged at 1:40 am by Pretty girl

There are certain nutrients that the scalp needs for healthy hair growth. Sometimes hair is grown so slow that the hair follicles actually remain dormant. Faster hair growth occurs when the scalp receives all of the necessary nutrients that are vital to healthy hair growth. A person who desires faster hair growth can take a number of vitamins and supplements.

The minerals that support faster hair growth are sulfur, zinc, calcium, copper, chromium, iodine, magnesium, iron, potassium and selenium. flyaway hair

Posted in hair care tagged at 11:02 am by Pretty girl

If your hair is out of control and always full of static.

Static electricity is caused by friction between your comb and your hair, and also between individual hairs. As a result, you get the flyaway effect. To reduce this, don’t comb your hair too often and use the heaviest conditioner you can without weighing down your hair. Conditioners coat the hair, providing insulation, so using a light spray of leave-in conditioner might be just the solution for you. You also can try applying a drop of silicone serum, which will keep hair under control and add a bit of shine. Good luck.

Healthy and Strong Locks

Take care of your hair

Instead of hair styling products, use professional treatments, which remake the structure of the hair. If the hair is not treated chemically (colored, permanent waved), you can “recover” it with olive-oil and yolk.

Fast measures
To leave your hair grow long…yes, it’s beautiful and very fashionable. But must cut the blunted tips, otherwise your hair will look unseemly. At least every 2 months you must appear at the stylist to cut them of. To warm the moment of blunted tips, use daily a comb with large cogs, with antistatic effect (with natural hair, special metal or wood) or a bone-comb.

Resistance
Nothing is perfect: you have some days when your hair looks like as you we’re passing trough one mega-storm (although it was just a brainstorming at work or school). To arrange quickly your rebel hair, you can do it, surprise! With hand cream. Spread a small quantity (just of a size of a walnut) and apply delicate on your hair. Don’t be afraid! The hair won’t look oily, on the contrary, this trick work exactly just like a styling cream.

Inner straight
Your hair can look really good not just with the help of the styling-products, but with healthy nourishment too. The vitamin A (in salad, yolk, tomatoes and carrots), vitamin C (in red grapes, kiwi and citric fruits) and vitamin E (in sesame-oil, olive-oil, walnuts and milk-products) regenerate the cell of the hair-roots. While the biotin and iron (from spinach and liver) give more vitality to these cells and helps then to build a more resisting hair.

Shine on
More natural shine for your hair? After washing the hair with the proper shampoo and after rinsing, pour one little bottle of warmish mineral water on your hair. The minerals fro the water makes the hair shiny – they have a pronounced reflection-capacity and interesting light-reflection. And it really works!

Stress
Caffeine-excess, stress and smoking affects the hair – everybody is repeating that but they never say why! Toxins which are accumulated in the body, because of stress are eliminated pretty hard and they affect the cells which produce the hair. So, the intoxicated cells are reducing their activity and even stop.

Winter haircare

Posted in hair care tagged at 11:27 am by Pretty girl

The dry and cold winter can be very damaging to your hair. Hair easily becomes dry during this time of year from the dry indoor heating and the dry cold weather outside. Proper preventative steps need to be taken during this seasons to ensure that your hair does not get damaged.

Winter Hair Care Tips

  • Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the cold and wind, but make sure that it’s not so tight that it will restrict circulation in your scalp.
  • Use a conditioner daily.
  • Once you have your hair moist, lock in the moisture by running your hair through cold water, this will also give your hair an extra shine.
  • Don’t go outside with your hair wet, you risk breakage; your hair will freeze if it’s cold enough outside and may break.
  • Limit your use of “hot” items on your hair such as a blow dryers and curling irons.
  • If you need to use a “hot” item use a leave in conditioner before using the item on your hair.
  • Avoid taking hot showers or washing your hair in hot water, use warm or cool water instead, the heat can dry out and/or damage your hair and skin.
  • Hair products that have the word, “Replenish” on it is made to moistureize your hair.
  • Try using a dry shampoo if you need to wash out your hair, one dry shampoo you can use is baby powder, simply sprinkle some onto your hair and use a comb to comb it off.
